About Magnolia
I am a committed violin tutor with 3 years of experience teaching school, college, and working professional students. I have successfully guided 200 to 300 students, helping them build strong technique and musical confidence. My teaching philosophy is based on flexibility, real-life examples, integrity, creativity, and problem-solving, ensuring each student receives lessons suited to their pace and goals. I adjust my approach based on individual progress, give honest feedback, and encourage creative exploration once fundamentals are strong. When students face challenges like bow control or pitch accuracy, I break them into manageable steps for steady improvement. My goal is to help every student grow into a confident, skilled violinist through consistent, supportive guidance.

My teaching approach for Violin, Music Theory, and Ear Training focuses on helping students build solid technique while keeping lessons flexible enough to suit their individual needs. Even in the early stages of my tutoring career, I have focused on developing a methodology that is honest, practical, and adaptable.
Flexibility is at the heart of how I structure my lessons. Every student learns differently, so I adjust the pace, style, and focus of each session based on how a student is progressing, whether that means spending extra time on a tricky passage or moving faster through concepts they grasp quickly.
I use real-life examples and case studies from professional violinists and real performance situations to help students connect their practice to actual musical experiences, whether it is orchestra playing, solo performance, or ensemble work. This makes learning feel relevant rather than purely theoretical.
Integrity guides how I give feedback. I am honest about a student's progress, clearly pointing out strengths and areas that need more work, so they always have an accurate understanding of where they stand and what to focus on next.
Creativity is something I encourage throughout lessons, whether through exploring different musical styles or experimenting with simple improvisation once basic technique is established. This helps students connect emotionally with their playing rather than just focusing on accuracy.
Problem-solving comes into play whenever a student faces specific difficulties, such as bow control or pitch issues. I break these challenges into smaller, manageable steps and work through practical solutions together until they build confidence.
My lessons begin with posture, bow hold, and finger positioning, followed by scales and simple melodies. I introduce music theory basics early, along with ear training, to build a strong all round foundation. My aim is to create a flexible, honest, and encouraging space where every violin student can grow steadily and confidently.
