About Ned
With 20 years experience as a commercial, portrait, and product photographer, I have filled the pages of both National and International product and fashion catalogs, some ranging up to hundreds or thousands of pages thick, working also as head photographer for a local model agency. After a dozen years of running a downtown photo studio, I moved out to the country with my wife to open a much larger photo studio with attached café and country store, before moving back into the city years later. I have extensive education experience in many fields along with photography, from training camera sale staff as an Olympus Factory Representative, to teaching Graphic Design as an Adobe Applications Instructor and Adobe Certified Expert, and even teaching Motorcycle Safety Foundation and Canada Safety Council classes. I build a comfortable rapport and succinct explanations to all my students.

My lessons are for all levels, from beginners to advanced professionals. I will help you understand all the technicalities and facets of a good photo and how to get there, from cameras and optics, to lighting, to composition, to tips and tricks. Through extensive professional experience, I will teach you how to set up and shoot in a studio, how to capture fast-paced action and sports, how to understand the relationships of light and capture, how to capture stunning visuals in fashion photography, and how to operate a camera and lighting equipment from fully manual to varying degrees of automatic assistance. I can help you with selecting the right equipment for the job, from optics to lighting and more.
