About Victor
Hi! I’m Victor, and I’m here to change the way your child feels about math. I know that for many students, math can feel like a series of confusing rules and formulas to memorize. My mission is to replace that "math anxiety" with "math confidence."
I specialize in the Singapore Math method, a world-renowned approach that focuses on deep understanding through visual modeling. By pairing these global techniques with the Ontario Curriculum, I help students see the "big picture" behind the numbers. Whether your child is looking to catch up or get ahead, I provide a supportive, patient, and engaging environment where they can finally say, "I get it!"
Proven Results: I take great pride in my students' success. Through consistent application of these methods, the vast majority of my students achieve "A" grades (Level 4) in their school reports and excel in their EQAO assessments. My goal is to turn high potential into high performance.

My lessons are designed to transform math from a source of frustration into a source of confidence. By integrating the Singapore CPA (Concrete, Pictorial, Abstract) framework with the Ontario Curriculum, I provide a learning experience that is both rigorous and intuitive.
The Lesson Experience
Every session is structured to move beyond "getting the right answer" and toward mastering the mathematical process:
Conceptual Discovery: We begin with the Concrete. Before touching a pencil, we use virtual or physical tools to visualize the problem. This ensures the student sees the logic before the math.
Visual Modeling: We use the Pictorial stage—specifically Singapore-style Bar Modeling. This helps students break down complex Ontario word problems into manageable visual parts, making the "hardest" questions feel simple.
Strategic Mastery: Finally, we move to the Abstract. Once the student understands the "Why," we apply the formulas and symbols required by the Ontario Ministry of Education to ensure they are performing at or above grade level.
Why These Lessons Are Different
Alignment with School: Lessons are carefully mapped to Ontario’s strands (Number Sense, Algebra, Data, etc.), ensuring your child is fully prepared for EQAO and classroom assessments.
Mental Math Agility: I teach specific Singapore-based mental strategies that help students calculate faster and more accurately without a calculator.
Adaptive Pace: No two students learn the same way. I pivot my teaching style based on where your child is currently at, filling in foundational gaps while pushing them toward advanced concepts.
The Goal: To move away from "math anxiety" and toward mathematical fluency. My students don't just pass tests; they develop a toolkit of problem-solving skills that lasts a lifetime.
To provide a focused and distraction-free learning environment, sessions are held in person at your local public library.
