About Skylar
I am ranked #3 at Texas Tech for English tutoring. I am currently a junior and have had a passion for writing/speaking since middle school. I believe the ability has always been with you, sometimes it just takes practice and time to build the confidence needed to excel. Confidence is built through receiving constructive criticism from those with a genuine desire to see you grow. As a tutor, I will also focus on emphasizing what was positive about your work just as much as what could be improved so that you gain balanced knowledge from both sides.

I am open to students ranging from 1st grade- university undergraduates. I will tailor my lessons and approach to fit their needs. I most commonly use a student-centered approach. This means students will communicate where they feel help is needed and help will be given in a manner that allows students to truly learn something new. If students are unsure of where to start, I will gladly review material & give my feedback. I strive to see students thrive in their work versus just simply "getting by". I believe that given the right resources, every student has the ability to excel.
