About Deborah
I am 19 years old and currently enrolled at Simmons University. English is my second language; I achieved proficiency when I was 12 years old. I am a native Portuguese speaker with a seal of biliteracy in Spanish. In college, I have studied the best approaches to education with a psychology background. All methods can be backed up by science and research that I have available to make the experience better. In high school, I have been in multiple honor societies including Portuguese and Spanish. I am currently on the Dean's List in my college and have been providing college tutoring on the side for classes I have already taken.

I have been teaching children to pre-teens/teens for 5 years now through normal English teaching methods, science, media, mathematics, history, and arts & crafts. I am willing to adapt my methods to the students and to provide the support they need in order to succeed. The lesson would start with a warmup that would be made especially for the student reviewing what was covered in the last tutoring session or a set of skills needed for the lesson of the day, followed by an introduction to the subject covering in detail what is needed to achieve proficiency in the matter, an activity would come next in order to solidify the material, a final review and wrap up would be finalization of the lesson for the day. If desired extra practice material can be made for the student to do until the next tutoring session.
