About Amanda
I major in Criminal Justice and I am contracted with UH ROTC on a 4-year scholarship attributed to my excellent leadership, communication, and professional skills in the JROTC high school program. I was honored to have become the Brigade Commander of over 500 cadets in the Clear Creek ISD district as I helped teach and lead them to become stronger leaders, more proficient academically, and involved members of their community. I have also won awards in college for academic writing in my English 1301 category. I love teaching students and helping them find pride in progress towards obtaining more knowledge to help them succeed in many areas such as academically, emotionally, professionally, and more!

I approach each teaching opportunity contingent upon the student’s direct needs and their preferred learning method. In the high school program JROTC, we learned of many different teaching and learning styles, such as auditory learners, kinesthetic learners, and visual learners. I always strive to respect and honor each individual student’s needs in how they prefer to learn, or what they feel truly challenges them and helps them develop a comfortable but proper work ethic that is designed to their needs specifically. If a student requires more hands-on approaches, I am always glad to help them invest in projects or the use of teaching props to engage the student more. If a student is an auditory learner, it is always great to use repetition when verbally teaching them. If a student is more visual, then I use methods of utilizing graphs, pictures, or charts to help students ingrain the material. Once again, I understand many students have different learning styles and I am eager to teach them and be flexible according to their specific needs.
