About Marc
I have been successfully teaching, advising, and placing students for 13 years as a full-time faculty member at my college. I am always learning and keeping up with the latest trends and best practices in my industries so I can better prepare students for life after graduation.
Aside from teaching, I have freelanced on a lot of logo designs, website development, designing print materials, editing videos, and designing and animating 3D animations for law firms and engineering firms.
I spent a few years as a contract artist for a small animation studio where I worked on amazing projects like Sesame Street, Man in the High Castle, The Bourne Stuntacular, Color Quest, and Blobkin Blaster VR.
I have seen a lot of different ways to do things throughout the years and learn what's effective and what's less effective. I also use the motto "keep it simple" a lot in my classes in order to discourage students from trying to make a more elaborate project than I am asking for. Once you feel confident and start to get into the zone, it's hard to rein in those creative feelings and need to "do more." In my animation classes, I'd rather see a great animation of a simple character than an okay animation of an overly elaborate character. It's animation class. show me good animation. I use that same approach in all of my classes.

In order to help you effectively, I will first discern your learning style. This way, I can make a lesson plan for you that won't confuse and frustrate you.
Using software is important, but learning effective principles and foundations are the focus of my curriculum. I start with the "whats" and the "whys" and then get to the "hows" when you've gotten a solid grasp of the content. "Whens" will be determined as I learn your learning style. Preparing and planning a project is about 70-80% of the work. Putting it all together in software is the other 20-30%
I record step-by-step tutorial videos that my students love since they can follow along at their own pace, as well as provide lecture information in a manner that's as entertaining as I can make it so it's easier to keep your interest.
