About Faith
Most recently, I worked as a writing tutor at my college, where I helped students edit, structure, outline, and revise papers for a wide variety of courses. I began taking college level writing and English courses in high school through Sinclair Community College. Initially, I pursued a journalism specific degree at Mississippi State University. However, after transferring to a small, liberal arts college, this became a Communication Arts degree. I graduated cum laude this spring while pursuing athletics at the national level. My most notable course experience comes from Copywriting and Editing, British Literature, and News Writing. That said, I am well-versed in communications, with experience in social media management, public and media relations, and public speaking.

I tutor anyone from middle school through college, and am happy to help when it comes to writing essays for any class, or simply practicing writing outside of class, focusing on the art of English. Most recently, I worked at the Writing Center on my college campus, helping fellow students write and improve essays for a wide variety of classes.
When starting an essay from scratch, I help students create thesis statements and central concepts to structure their papers around. We then begin structuring the essay. In editing essays, I first read the paper aloud with the student, highlighting areas to improve/change/fix along the way. We then go back through these highlighted areas. Finally, the essay can almost always be improved by way of vocabulary and mechanics.
Additionally, I work through reading with students, teaching them key elements to look for regarding themes, symbols, and motifs.
Ultimately, I aim to help students understand and utilize the power of the written word - whether it be the work of others or their own.
