About Elizabeth
I am a student at Colgate University, currently working on neuroscience and philosophy degrees. I have taken two astronomy classes while at university, and absolutely loved the classes. I excelled in them, and love to pass along the knowledge to others. I have experience with tutoring; I tutor students in chemistry when I am at Colgate.

I believe teaching works best when you appeal to the interests of the tutoree- finding out what they find interesting within the subject allows you to create an environment in which the students want to learn (which makes a huge difference). I also think that it is very important to prompt the students to answer questions rather than feeding answers/information (assuming they have some knowledge in the subject area; if not, more of a direct teaching method is obviously required).I think I work best one-on-one, when I can draw diagrams and write things down as I speak, though this can be effective in groups as well when the setting is correct.
