About Abbey
I have a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience, and I am currently undertaking a PhD grounded in Clinical/Cognitive Neuropsychology and Health Psychology. During my MSc i took classes on critical analysis and was part of the cognitve lab journal club an so have experience of critiquing papers in detail. I hold 2 teaching positions at UK universities. I have research experience both from completing my BSc and MSc but also in more practical settings such as in the lab and in clinical settings.

These sessions will be closer to a journal club than a lesson as such. They can be within a group or on an individual basis depending on the needs of the learner. Individual sessions would involve the learner picking a paper/selection of papers and we would go through these on a one-to-one basis and critique the paper(s) together. A group session would be very similar to this, but would involve a mix of learners each picking their own papers and we would go through these as a group together. A group session can also be arranged for a group project or study group.
The choice of article/articles is down to the learner and will be read by myself prior to the session and we can go through it together and critically analyse the paper. These sessions would be useful for learners who are not confident in their critical analysis skills or would like a little extra help with a literature review or research paper and are looking for some guidance in how to correctly read and critique research.
