About Edoardo

You may be facing decisions in education or work: choosing a course, seeking opportunities, or moving abroad. I have faced and solved these problems myself first, with modest guidance, and later helped dozens of students and younger colleagues do the same. This experience is grounded in a decade of theoretical physics research across five countries, followed by years in London’s financial district.

The neighbourhood can expand to the city, school achievements can become a passion, and passions an obsession. This leads to better-paid opportunities and social circles that align with your fulfilled self. Recent clients (through a third-party non-profit) include a graduate brainstorming business ideas, and a candidate building self-esteem through factual accomplishments, moving from a year of unsuccessful interviews to positive feedback and two PhD offers. They are featured on my LinkedIn.

Our sessions prioritise a long-term relationship over quick wins: developing a firm mindset and leaving you with resources to move forward independently. It extends beyond the sessions: for example, checking in with a former client and connecting him with a journal to become a reviewer.

I work with those committed and motivated. Saying yes to nonsense or changing your mind is not included. My endeavour is to provide honest feedback, highlight incongruences, and hold you accountable for decision-making and performance.

If this all sounds like a long shot for you, it is nothing to worry about. I will guide you through the first steps, until you realise you are walking on your own.

Coaching
You explore your ideas through structured questioning. You can even come with a general goal and together we dig out the heart of the problem.

• Move beyond your neighbourhood
• School attendance and attainment
• Turn passions into career opportunities
• Focus and consistency over the long term
• Steps for moving to another city or abroad
• Integrate into social circles that align with your interests
• Find better-paid opportunities and understand the rules that matter
• What to pursue and what to leave behind based on values, not pressure or habit

Mentoring
It gives direct advice grounded in my background and in the experience of people I have worked closely with. Most issues you bring have already been faced and solved in practice.

• PhD demands and outcomes
• Prestige, stability, freedom, pay
• Academic skills into marketable skills
• Academic and corporate career paths
• Self-evaluation without external validation
• International life across systems and cultures
• Choosing field, supervisor, and research group
• Academia from the inside: BSc, MSc, PhD, postdoc
• Brainstorming and stress-testing ideas with realism
• Hiring, selection, and evaluation beyond universities
• Sustained work on applications and research statements
• Independence, research pressure, publications, networking
• Year-long programs prioritising persistence over quick wins
• High tolerance for complexity, uncertainty and slow progress

Details

I dislike unresolved issues, which is why I prefer working through problems until everything makes sense, rather than watching the clock. Sessions are short (about 1 hour) or long (2 hours); long sessions cost twice the short.
