I have worked with Simon in the past. He was not only my manager as he was also a coach to me.
At that time, I moved in a new country alone to start a job.
My main goal was to build a digital team and this was rather new to me. Simon helped me out to understand where to begin, how to focus on my goal and which steps to take.
His job wasn't really to coach me by that time but I believe this was already natural in him!

What I appreciate is that Simon calls a spade a spade. There have never been any subjects that are off limits and he will listen, respect and take on board different perspectives without passing judgement. He's a valued sounding board, good at holding up a mirror to one's emotions around challenging situations. His own life experiences have given him an understanding of what it is truly like when life throws us more lemons than we know what to do with.
