About Harvey
I have a 1st Class BA (Hons) in Classics from the University of Warwick, as part of which I studied Latin and Ancient Greek to a beyond Undergraduate level. I also have experience teaching Latin and Ancient Greek in classrooms and a strong familiarity with the major Latin and Greek authors who appear on GCSE and A Level syllabi (Cicero, Virgil, Ovid, Herodotus, Homer). I am currently studying for an MA by Research in Latin Literature

I like to focus on a text-based approach to Latin and Ancient Greek, building up knowledge of grammar and vocabulary while creating confidence in recognising these features and words in example passages. Once the core grammatical ideas of the languages are secure I think that the best approach is then to get into looking at Latin and Ancient Greek in the real contexts of their original literary texts. In this I am happy to either provide my own examples for students or work to any specific texts/passages required for a qualification (GCSE/A Level set texts etc.).
