About Martha
I am a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music, where I earned a degree with focuses in both viola and music theory. For the past three years I have tutored and taught group classes to high school and college at the Institute.

My teaching philosophy is that every performer with robust theory skills will give more musical performances than those who do not, so theory study must serve the primary study of performance. Lessons depend on the students' background in theory, but for all students it is important to learn fundamental aural, harmony and singing skills dispensed in a logical progression.
