About Paul
I have been playing the piano ever since I could reach the keys. I took lessons for a number of years when I was younger and have stuck with it ever since. When I was in middle school I joined a chamber choir and had the opportunity to sing with the choir in Carnegie Hall and many cities in Austria, the Czech Republic, Ireland, England and Whales. I was a member of that choir, called chamber bravura for three years, and recently last year, while studying abroad, I joined a school choir and sang in St. Peter's basilica in the Vatican City. If you decide to take voice lessons with me we will work on singing whatever repertoire you want to sing, but we will also study traditional polyphony and choral music. This is to strengthen your musical ear and allows us to focus on singing with proper technique, which will carry over into other genres. I can teach piano or voice to anyone at any level from beginner to advanced. Thank you for reading and I hope to see you soon!

New students will begin learning songs right away to engender a sense of wonder about the instrument or the voice, with only minimal exercises being assigned until after the student has progressed to a certain point. Once the student shows beginner proficiency then sight-reading, scales and technique will be incorporated into practice time. The Suzuki method is my preferred method to teach piano students, but if another method has already been started or if another method would be preferred I'm open to that too. My overall philosophy in a nutshell is to help the student learn to love music.
