Only online lessons are available now, and a laptop connecting to an external microphone is strongly recommended for the audio clarity. I value one’s learning goal (eg. to get better with flute, to play in the school band, to take RCM exam, to learn as a habit) and explore methods that works best for the student. I will suggest etudes and exercises that helps to improve the technique, and repertoires that suites student’s interest, as well as incorporate music theory during the lesson.

Perfect! Even though it's a free trial lesson, Josie showed her professionalism and passion! Thank you!
Perfect! Josie employs a highly adaptable teaching approach and demonstrates exceptional passion and expertise in the flute. With her guidance, I returned to playing after 15 years and regained the confidence to tackle challenging pieces.
- You have a nice tone in the middle register and good finger technique, the next step I would suggest for you is to practice long tones in extreme registers, play with more dynamic contrast and give direction to the music.Josie's response :

Josie is a very patient teacher, super nice. I’ve been studying with her for 2 years and improved a lot!
A wonderful teacher, very understanding and encouraging, I really enjoyed the lesson with her.
I’m learning flute just for fun and I came with the song I wanted to learn. Josie will guide me through and help with my playing, as well as talk about ways to practice it, so I get better at reading music and playing skills. Highly recommend Josie for flute lessons.
Josie is a great teacher. She explains everything very clearly and makes each lesson fun. We are preparing for the level 8 exam, and my son enjoys having lessons with her.
