About Melis Tugce
I have been teaching classical ballet for the past 11 years. As a highly dedicated and passionate Ballet Teacher, I specialize in preschool ages with experience with older ages, as well as adults. My principal areas of expertise are my excellent knowledge of Classical Ballet, outstanding and creative teaching skills, patience, and my attention to detail. You will find that I exhibit a powerful combination of solid communication skills and understanding with children of that age, professionalism, and passion with hardworking hands-on experience in the field. Focusing on giving the ballet dancers the best, I happily taught classes of up to 20 students all at once. I have also worked with children whose skeletal structures were challenged, for example, scoliosis and in-toeing, and helped them seek and find remedy through ballet at an early age.

In my role as a Ballet Teacher, I value teaching anyone who wants to learn ballet. My priorities are focusing on the feet and establishing correct point with fun but useful exercises, showing the students the do's and don'ts of pointing the feet. Teaching the importance of the correct and healthy posture by exhibiting a series of port-de-bras exercises to the students, encouraging and helping them to perform the port-de-bras while reinforcing the learned data accompanied by classical music carefully selected by me. As a teacher, I value taking each student's physical thresholds and capacities into consideration and approach them individually, which will eventually help them blossom in their own unique ways. Introducing them to turnouts, by using their adductor muscles and hamstrings correctly, through a series of floor, circle, and corner-to-corner exercises. Raising awareness and interest towards classical music and rhythm through a series of improvisational and choreographed numbers, giving them a small glimpse of the wide repertoire of Classical Ballet with costumes from famous ballet pieces is also an important part of my class. As a teacher who loves to keep her students intrigued, I create an environment in which, by means of small drama activities, students comprehend the importance of mimics and theatrics in Ballet, which is also a fun way to come out of their shells and participate with joy. My outstanding parent/student communication skills, responsible and hardworking attitude, highly developed time management, along with my capacity to maintain discipline while being lenient, patient, and understanding, make me a valuable ballet teacher.

Perfect! Gentle, kind, clear and extremely capable. Unfortunately i could only have 13 lessons with Tugce, as i am going back to Germany.
Tugce has touched an inner child. When one looks some dancers and artists, one sees their shining prowess, it sets them apart and they are daunting.
When one looks upon Tugce's dance, one sees only the beauty of her motion and expression. The prowess is there of course, but the beauty cloaks it and gently invites the student to follow, making one believe that they can create their own beauty, knowing that their struggles will be met with kindness. For Tugce's teaching style is kindness, gentleness, clarity and the inculcation of a belief in oneself. Tugce has several teenage students auditioning for the VCA and Australian Ballet, and i couldn't think a more wonderful person to build teenagers up and grow their self belief.
Dear Tugce, i hope to stay in touch, and i hope i can find a ballet teacher as half as sweet, kind and as capable as you are.Perfect! Melis was an excellent teacher, very patient and artistic. My daughter great enjoyed lessons with her.
Perfect! In the 45 minutes we were on zoom I really felt she was able to recognize and help me overcome some of the bad habits I've picked up with my pirouette technique. Really greatful for the help correcting these habbits and I look forward to continuing to work with her to improve not only my turns but my technique in general
Perfect! Melis was wonderful with Kelsey and Kelsey really loved having Melis as her ballet teacher, as she went slow, got Kelsey doing different positions and learning the names of the positions and much more. Melis is absolutely wonderful as a ballet teacher. :)
- Kelsey is a talented student. She was attentive and eager throughout the class. Her concentration and devotion to each detail enabled her to apply everything I said and showed into her exercises. That is an amazing quality which will improve her technique and carry her far. I'm very lucky to have the oppurtunity to be her teacher.:)Melis Tugce's response :
