About Selina
I would choose to tutor students in A-Level (AS) and GCSE level Economics, Psychology, and English Literature because I would be partially pursuing my dream to becoming a teacher by 1-1 tutoring and I have a strong desire to teach students the way I have learnt and grasped onto the knowledge using all revision methods through trial and error. Now I am at the stage where I have the strong desire to share my knowledge and help students succeed academically. Tutoring provides a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives, guiding them through challenging concepts, fostering critical thinking skills, and helping them build a solid foundation in these subjects. Therefore, especially board exams it is crucial for you to reach your full potential and I as a tutor want to ensure that this happens. As a tutor, I would strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can develop a deeper understanding of the subjects, enhance their analytical abilities, and improve their exam performance. Additionally, I believe that education is not just about acquiring knowledge, but also about nurturing a love for learning and personal growth. By tutoring in these subjects, I hope to inspire and empower students to pursue their academic goals, instilling in them the confidence to excel in their studies and beyond.

Length of lesson is typically an hour however, depending on the content me and the student are learning I may go longer than that to ensure they get in depth understanding. My techniques are using flashcards for general context that they may need to know, however for tenuous information in which students may find difficult to grasp I would teach them bit by bit, breaking it down and then give application examples for them to link it to (extra marks!), then after that to ensure they are doing active recall I would ask them questions or to teach me the content back to reassure both the student and myself they have grasped the content. Then I would share some of the pre-made resources and send it to the student; for them to learn. We would also go through past paper questions as they're a God Sent! I have been a mentor since year 12 and now aspire to tutor children who are taking board exams to help them reach their full potential. My lessons are targeted towards English; Literature, Language students at GCSE's however, I can also tutor students at AS Level for English Literature as well as I have the right resources to accommodate the students. In addition, I can tutor psychology GCSE's, A-Level, AS Level students and Economics students GCSE's and AS - Level.
