About ChyNa
Chy’Na Nellon currently teaches Composition I and II as well as Black Digital Storytelling at University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Nellon is a Ph.D. candidate in Cultural Studies with a focus in digital humanities, specifically media, virtual and augmented realities, artificial intelligence, interpretation/ misinformation and the pedagogy and praxis surrounding these fields. Nellon has an M.A. in Pan-African Studies with a focus on Literature and Film as well as an M.Ed. in Information Technology focusing on culturally relevant online teaching strategies. She is also a graduate researcher and community liaison for the World Languages & Digital Humanities Studio at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.

Chy'Na's teaching method includes scaffolding for all of her lessons, meaning one idea or lesson builds on another until we are able to reach our goals. This method makes it easier to take bit size chunks of the information to get to the ultimate goal. She also believes in creating realistic situation for her lessons, so her students can be prepared for real world experiences. Lessons in oration/communication are focused on all level. Writing lesson focus mostly on college preparation/ college level course work.
