About Peiyu
I am a professional and experienced Mandarin teacher. I am not only a native speaker, but I've received systemic education regarding teaching Mandarin. My bachelor degree is English Education, and my first master's degree is Developmental and Educational Psychology. I also completed my second master's degree TESOL at the University of Nottingham. I am a certificated teacher of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (CTCSOL). My academic background proves that I have enough experience in teaching English and Chinese.

I will pay closer attention to students' learning needs in my classes. Specifically, I will tailor my lesson plan for all students with different requirement according to their specific learning needs.
Native speakers' accent is not that important: I won't expect you to speak like a native speaker, but I will teach you how to communicate with them. Just like me, I have been studying English for more than twenty years, I still cannot say that my English sounds like a native speaker, but you can understand what I communicate to you right now.
If you are a beginner, I will help you to start with the basic Pinyin and tones. If you are intermediate level students, we can have daily conversations. I will prepare some authentic materials for you to learn.
Making mistakes is totally fine. Don't worry if you make mistakes. I think all of them are great opportunities for you to learn new things.
Before the class, I can prepare you a handout. After the class, I will provide what you have learned today and some error corrections for you to review.
If you learn with me, you will find a brand new world of learning Chinese. My class is learner-centred, you will be engaged and motivated throughout the lesson. You will have a fantastic learning experience.

Details
Lesson Cancellation Policy:
Students can cancel any time up to 12 hours before the lesson start time for free, but any lessons cancelled within 12 hours of the start time can be charged at 50% of the total lesson fee after.
Any lessons that are either cancelled after the start time of the lesson or where the student never informed you that a lesson could not take place will be charged at full price. Tutors must wait for the student for at least 15 minutes at the location of the lesson or in the online classroom, attempt to contact the student via phone call and be able to provide evidence of this in order for us to enforce a 100% charge if they do not have alternative evidence of a student cancelling after the start time.
Tutors cannot charge a student in full if the student cancels the lesson after the start time as a result of a tutor being late for a lesson.
