About Aurora
Hello! 你好 (nǐ hǎo)
I’m Aurora, or you can call me by my Chinese nickname, Shanshan. I moved to Australia when I was five and grew up speaking both Chinese and English, which made me fall in love with language and Chinese culture from a young age. In my free time, I enjoy reading Chinese books and I’m currently challenging myself with 文言文 (wén yán wén), classical Chinese texts.
I received a Band 6 in HSC Chinese in Context, and later worked at Atop as a tutor, teaching children and learning how to make lessons fun and practical. I enjoy showing students that there’s so much more to Chinese than just memorizing words. I hope my students can enjoy our lessons together and put what we learn into practice in real life!

Unless otherwise requested, I usually prepare lesson materials in advance. It’s also helpful if you let me know what you’d like to learn this allows me to tailor the lessons to your goals. For example, we can use class materials, practice real-life situations, or focus on speaking in a restaurant setting.
