My duties: Teach Chinese language and culture, assess and provide feedback to students in regards to their performance, and grade tests (written and oral), develop lesson plans, assign and check homework, etc. I also participated in many professional development activities. All students are military personnel and every one of them has successfully completed Chinese language courses with very good scores on their written and OPI (Oral Proficiency Interview) tests. My class is learner-centered, students are actively engaged and motivated, classroom tasks are challenging but students are capable of accomplishing them with effort, and feel a sense accomplishment once completed.
