About Liza
Complexity often hides in plain sight during a match, a truth I admit makes the game simultaneously frustrating and deeply rewarding. After 5 years of teaching 121 students, I have learned that even the most stubborn tactical blind spots can be cleared with the right degree of patience and rigor.
My academic training as a PhD candidate at Stanford University fuels a very analytical style that prioritizes logic over intuition. Pattern recognition and king safety form the backbone of the defensive techniques I teach my students. I help you cultivate a robust opening repertoire while sharpening your ability to execute precise endgame technique under pressure. Moving forward, I want to help you achieve the tactical clarity necessary to reach your long-term performance goals.

Winning a match begins with the understanding that the most aggressive move is frequently the most dangerous one to play. I prioritize personalized development by assessing your current rating and board awareness to build a curriculum that fills your specific knowledge gaps. Whether we are analyzing your opening principles or refining your middlegame planning, every discussion serves to deepen your structural understanding of the game. I monitor how you synthesize new concepts to ensure that our sessions provide lasting value rather than temporary fixes.
My role is to challenge your assumptions about board control so you can evaluate positions with greater consistency and focus. Are you ready to identify the patterns that are currently limiting your growth as a chess player?
