About Emma

Chemistry tutor with 10 years of experience teaching advanced high school and college students. Have successfully taught around 300 students, helping many prepare for competitive exams, university research projects, and graduate-level chemistry. My teaching philosophy is built on theoretical depth and analytical rigor. I focus on building strong conceptual foundations while developing advanced problem-solving skills. Notable achievements include helping over 40 students secure top ranks in national chemistry olympiads and guiding several to publish research papers. I create a supportive, intellectually challenging environment where questions are celebrated. I keep detailed records of each session to track progress and adjust methods as needed. Whether you are preparing for competitive exams or pursuing research, I tailor every lesson to your specific goals.

My teaching approach for Chemistry and related subjects is built on rigorous theoretical foundations and practical problem-solving. I connect quantum chemistry principles to spectroscopic observations, so you understand the physical basis of molecular behaviour. We break down topics like wavefunctions, selection rules, and photochemical pathways into clear, logical steps. I encourage creative thinking by asking you to interpret spectra and propose mechanistic explanations. Motivation comes from setting weekly research-style goals and celebrating each conceptual breakthrough. Integrity means I give honest feedback, never overlook gaps, and always adapt to your learning style. For Chemistry, we cover quantum chemistry (Schrodinger equation, atomic orbitals, molecular orbitals, approximation methods), spectroscopy (rotational, vibrational, electronic, NMR, ESR), photochemistry (Jablonski diagram, quantum yield, photophysical processes), statistical thermodynamics, and computational chemistry basics. We also work on data analysis, graph interpretation, and scientific reporting. I also teach related subjects that support your chemistry mastery: Physics for Chemistry – quantum mechanics and electromagnetic theory. Mathematics for Chemistry – calculus, linear algebra, and statistics. Biology for Chemistry – photobiology and enzyme photochemistry. In every lesson, I use case studies from current research and my own students. For example, I show how one student mastered molecular orbital diagrams using a simple symmetry approach, then we apply that to your current problems. I share stories of students who improved by solving spectroscopy problems daily. My sessions are interactive and inquiry-driven. We solve problems, analyse spectra, discuss research papers, and run computational simulations. I assign homework like deriving key equations, interpreting unknown spectra, or writing a mini-research proposal. I adapt my pace to your goals, whether for exams, research, or competitive tests. I never compare you to others, only to your previous self. I keep detailed notes of each lesson so we always build on what we did before. My goal is to make you a confident, analytical, and research-ready chemist.
