About Harry
Hello, My name is Harry and I am an undergraduate student reading chemistry at Cardiff University. Previously, being supported by a tutor outside of the curriculum greatly increased my confidence in the classroom. As my confidence grew so did my enjoyment and curiosity for the sciences and maths! This has, over time, evolved into a passion for chemistry which I have taken further to degree level.
This pathway has provided me with some great experiences and I would love to give back and provide the same opportunities for others. My aim after graduation is to become a secondary school teacher.
I understand that nobody wants to be doing extra work on top of homework and normal school hours, so I aim to bring energy and excitement to each session and ensure that the student feels they have made progress and it has been worth it!

I teach all 3 GCSE sciences and A Level Chemistry aligned to the AQA curriculum/examining board, plus GCSE and A level maths aligned to the OCR curriculum and examining board. I am also very willing to teach younger secondary school students doing Key Stage 3 science and maths who are looking to build their skills and confidence, for example before end of year exams.
Having been a tutee myself, I know how to plan for and be efficient with each tutoring session to maximise its value for both the parent and student. Typical sessions last one hour during the week, or up to 2 hours on weekends, including a 15 minute unpaid break halfway through.
I do all I can to help the student feel at ease, patiently listening to them, asking questions and tailoring my approach to their needs. I aim for them to have some fun while learning, so that they are motivated to come to the lessons! I care about my students and want them to develop confidence and enjoy science and solving maths problems as much as I do, so that achieve what they need!
