About Maya
My interest in Chemistry began with a curiosity about how matter changes and interacts at the molecular level. This passion inspired me to complete a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry followed by a Master of Science in Chemical Sciences. During my 9 years of teaching experience, I have worked with students from different academic backgrounds, helping them build understanding and confidence through patient guidance.
I believe Chemistry becomes much easier when students understand the reasons behind chemical behavior. My teaching approach focuses on breaking complex topics into manageable steps while connecting concepts through logical explanations. Through discussions, diagrams, and problem-solving activities, I help learners strengthen both understanding and confidence.
Outside teaching, I enjoy following developments in materials science, environmental chemistry, and industrial applications of chemistry. These interests allow me to bring real-world relevance into lessons. Supporting students as they grow into confident and capable science learners remains one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

My Chemistry lessons focus on helping students understand how substances interact and how chemical principles explain everyday phenomena. Topics include atomic structure, chemical bonding, reactions, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, equilibrium, acids and bases, and organic chemistry. I emphasize conceptual understanding so students can explain processes confidently rather than simply memorizing information. Through clear explanations and practical examples, learners develop a stronger connection to the subject.
Lessons are adapted to individual learning needs and academic goals. Beginners focus on foundational concepts, laboratory understanding, and basic calculations. Intermediate students strengthen reaction analysis, problem-solving skills, and application of chemical principles. Advanced learners explore complex mechanisms, analytical techniques, and examination preparation strategies. Guided practice and regular review help students improve steadily while building confidence.
