About Zachary
My fascination with chemistry began with curiosity about molecular interactions, the nature of chemical transformations, and how substances interact to form the world we see. This led me to earn a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Molecular Chemistry, combining deep theoretical knowledge with hands-on laboratory skills. Over 10 years of teaching, I have guided students at various levels—from those beginning their journey in chemistry to advanced learners preparing for exams, competitions, or research. My focus is on fostering conceptual understanding, analytical reasoning, and confidence in every learner.
I teach with patience, clarity, and adaptability, using visual aids, structured explanations, and practical exercises to make abstract chemical concepts approachable and memorable. I encourage curiosity, independent thinking, and problem-solving, ensuring learners not only understand the material but can apply it effectively. My lessons cultivate mastery alongside a genuine enthusiasm for the subject.
Outside the classroom, I stay engaged with laboratory research, chemical literature, and emerging methodologies in chemistry. By integrating real-world examples into lessons, students see the relevance and applications of chemical principles in everyday life. Watching learners progress from uncertainty to confidence, gaining analytical ability and curiosity, is deeply rewarding. I aim to help students achieve academic success while nurturing a lifelong interest in chemistry and its applications.

Chemistry becomes truly engaging when students can connect abstract principles with real-world applications and experiments. My lessons focus on molecular structure, reaction mechanisms, stoichiometry, kinetics, thermodynamics, and spectroscopy, creating a balance between conceptual clarity and practical problem-solving. I prioritise understanding the reasoning behind each chemical principle and reaction, rather than rote memorisation. Lessons incorporate visual explanations, guided exercises, and scenario-based problem-solving to ensure that students develop both confidence and curiosity in their scientific abilities.
The curriculum is adapted to the student’s level of knowledge and skill. Beginners focus on atomic structure, bonding, and basic reaction types to create a solid foundation. Intermediate learners explore chemical kinetics, equilibrium, thermodynamic principles, molecular geometry, and reaction pathways. Advanced learners engage in complex organic synthesis, analytical chemistry techniques, and multi-step reaction modelling to prepare for competitive exams, research projects, or professional development. Each session is carefully structured with stepwise guidance, problem-solving practice, and discussion to reinforce comprehension, reasoning, and accuracy.
Beyond academic performance, chemistry lessons develop logical thinking, analytical observation, and systematic problem-solving skills. Students gain the ability to analyse phenomena critically, connect theory to practice, and approach challenges with structured reasoning. My goal is to nurture not only mastery in chemistry but also curiosity, resilience, and an appreciation for the role of molecules in shaping the world around us.
