About Jordan
My passion for tutoring chemistry comes from a deep appreciation for the subject itself. In college, courses in general and organic chemistry opened my eyes to how chemistry shapes the world around us, not just for scientists and doctors but for everyday life. That passion was sparked by the incredible teachers I had, and it continues to drive me to teach and mentor new generations of chemistry students. For the past five years, I have worked continuously as a teaching assistant and tutor, including three semesters as a head TA for college-level general and organic chemistry. In that time, I have supported hundreds of students, each with their own background, learning style, and level of confidence in science. This experience has given me a strong understanding of how to adapt to students’ needs, explain complex topics clearly, and identify the study habits and strategies that lead to success. While I have worked in classrooms and led review sessions, I have always found that one-on-one settings are where students make the most meaningful progress. I use these opportunities to listen carefully, address individual concerns, and develop tailored plans that help students build mastery at their own pace. Whether you are encountering chemistry for the first time or preparing for a major exam, I aim to make our sessions clear, supportive, and confidence-building. I bring not only subject expertise, but also years of practical experience helping students reach their academic goals. I am genuinely excited to help you do the same.

Understanding chemistry is more than memorizing equations as it requires active practice and meaningful connection to real-world applications. That’s why my tutoring approach focuses on both consistent problem-solving and deeper conceptual insight.
Before each session, I provide custom practice problems based on the relevant content and theory. This allows us to use our 1-on-1 time efficiently, focusing on the most challenging topics and building strategies for long-term retention. A typical lesson involves walking through key concepts, reviewing student work, and tying the material back to broader scientific ideas and everyday phenomena—from biochemical processes in the human body to materials used in modern technology.
What sets me apart is my ability to meet students where they are. I’ve taught a wide range of learners, from 10th-grade students struggling with science and math fundamentals to college pre-med students preparing for the MCAT. I design sessions to be encouraging, interactive, and tailored to each student’s academic background and learning goals.
Whether you're just beginning chemistry or aiming for mastery on a high-stakes exam, I’ll help you build both confidence and curiosity in the subject. My goal is not only to boost performance in the classroom, but to inspire a lasting appreciation for the role chemistry plays in understanding and shaping the world around us.
