About Hugo
I earned a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Physical Chemistry, combining theoretical understanding with practical laboratory experience. Over 8 years, I have taught students of diverse levels, guiding them through organic, inorganic, and analytical chemistry topics with structured guidance, interactive learning, and detailed problem-solving support. My teaching emphasizes conceptual clarity, practical reasoning, and fostering independence.
I customize lessons for each student, integrating experiments, examples, and visual aids to support comprehension. I encourage critical thinking, reflective problem-solving, and analytical reasoning, helping learners develop both competence and confidence in chemistry. This approach ensures that students not only understand chemical principles but can apply them effectively.
Outside teaching, I stay engaged with laboratory research, chemical innovations, and educational development. Bringing real-world applications into lessons enriches learning and sparks curiosity. Teaching chemistry is profoundly rewarding because I witness students transform uncertainty into mastery, gaining both knowledge and analytical skills that enable them to approach scientific challenges confidently and independently.

Chemistry becomes accessible and exciting when students can connect concepts to experiments and real-life examples. In my lessons, I cover atomic structure, bonding, stoichiometry, thermodynamics, kinetics, acid-base chemistry, and laboratory problem-solving. I emphasize conceptual understanding, analytical reasoning, and step-by-step problem-solving strategies. Lessons include interactive discussions, illustrative examples, and practical exercises designed to encourage engagement, critical thinking, and independent exploration of chemical principles.
Lesson plans are tailored to each learner’s abilities. Beginners focus on basic chemical principles, calculation practice, and intuitive understanding of reactions. Intermediate learners explore multi-step problems, equilibrium, kinetics, titrations, and applied chemical reasoning. Advanced learners delve into complex reaction mechanisms, synthesis challenges, experimental design, and exam preparation. Guided exercises, detailed feedback, and reflective practice ensure conceptual mastery, analytical skill, and confidence in solving intricate chemical problems.
Beyond academic content, chemistry lessons nurture logical reasoning, precision, and analytical thinking. Students gain transferable problem-solving skills and develop a thoughtful, methodical approach to complex challenges. My goal is to make chemistry understandable, stimulating, and empowering, enabling learners to build confidence, curiosity, and skill while appreciating the relevance and beauty of chemical science in everyday life.
