About Sophia
I am a chemistry graduate student at the University of Connecticut in the Organic Synthesis and Catalysis division. I tutored chemistry throughout my undergraduate degree and am both a Teacher’s Assistant and a Research Assistant as a part of my graduate program.

As a tutor I aim to help students grasp fundamental topics and start to create an intuition for the subject matter. I approach tutoring by asking students to bring in their own questions so I can address concerns more thoroughly. Critical thinking is a big part of chemistry, so it is a skill I hope to help students form.
