About Johna
I have a strong background in science and mathematics, holding a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a graduate certificate in Biomedical Sciences. I am currently pursuing a career in medicine, which has deepened my understanding of analytical thinking, problem solving, and scientific concepts.
I enjoy helping students not only improve their grades but also develop confidence in subjects that can sometimes feel intimidating. My goal as a tutor is to create a patient, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace while building lasting academic skills.

I believe math and chemistry become much easier when students understand the “why” behind the concepts, not just the steps to solve a problem. My lessons focus on building strong foundations, breaking complex ideas into simple steps, and helping students gain confidence in their abilities.
A typical lesson includes reviewing key concepts, walking through practice problems together, and then allowing students to try problems independently while I guide their reasoning.
I work with middle school, high school, and introductory college students in mathematics and chemistry. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and truly mastering the material.
