About Elyse
My journey in chemistry began with a fascination for the intricate behavior of molecules, reactions, and transformations in both everyday life and industrial contexts. This curiosity led me to pursue a B.Sc in Chemistry followed by an M.Sc in Analytical Chemistry, giving me a solid foundation in theory, laboratory practices, and research methodologies. Over the past 10 years, I have guided students through complex chemical concepts, helping them gain confidence in both understanding and application, while nurturing curiosity and analytical reasoning.
I focus on creating a student-centered and engaging learning environment. Many learners initially struggle with abstract concepts, multi-step calculations, or interpreting experimental results. I address this by breaking lessons into manageable segments, using relatable examples, encouraging active participation, and fostering independent problem-solving. This methodology ensures students build both competence and confidence in chemistry.
Outside the classroom, I remain engaged with chemical research, laboratory advancements, and educational strategies. Integrating current developments into lessons enriches content and demonstrates the real-world relevance of chemistry. Witnessing students transition from confusion to clarity, mastering complex topics, and developing intellectual curiosity is deeply fulfilling. Supporting learners to excel academically while cultivating a passion for chemistry continues to be the most rewarding aspect of my work.

Chemistry is a subject that truly comes alive when students can relate the concepts to real-world phenomena and practical applications. My lessons cover physical, organic, and analytical chemistry, including reaction mechanisms, stoichiometry, chemical equilibria, thermodynamics, kinetics, and laboratory techniques. I emphasize a structured approach that balances conceptual clarity with hands-on problem-solving, fostering both understanding and practical competence. Lessons integrate illustrative examples, guided exercises, and real-world applications, helping students connect abstract chemical principles to tangible experiences, ensuring a meaningful learning journey.
I customize lesson plans according to each learner’s proficiency. Beginners focus on foundational principles, simple calculations, and safety procedures in lab work. Intermediate learners explore reaction mechanisms, multi-step problems, and analytical techniques. Advanced learners delve into complex kinetics, spectroscopy, experimental design, and critical evaluation of chemical processes. Every session combines clear explanations, interactive exercises, and reflective discussions to strengthen conceptual understanding, analytical reasoning, and independent thinking within a supportive environment.
Through chemistry lessons, students develop transferable skills such as logical thinking, precision, and structured problem-solving. Learners gain confidence in analyzing chemical phenomena, interpreting experimental data, and applying theoretical principles to novel situations. Many experience excitement as abstract concepts become intuitive and tangible. My aim is to equip students with mastery of chemistry concepts, practical analytical skills, and a lasting intellectual curiosity that prepares them for academic success and future professional opportunities in science.
