About Ophelia
My passion for chemistry stems from curiosity about how substances interact, transform, and underpin the natural and applied sciences. I pursued a B.Sc in Chemistry and an M.Sc in Analytical Chemistry, acquiring strong theoretical knowledge alongside practical laboratory experience. Over 8 years, I have guided students in understanding fundamental concepts, advanced problem-solving, and lab proficiency, helping them build confidence and analytical abilities.
I follow a hands-on, student-centred approach, using demonstrations, exercises, applied examples, and conceptual discussions. I encourage active participation, inquiry, and critical thinking, ensuring students understand concepts thoroughly while developing practical skills.
Outside teaching, I engage with current research, chemical innovations, and laboratory developments. Integrating these insights into my lessons provides students with practical knowledge and real-world relevance. Witnessing learners progress from uncertainty to mastery in both theory and experimentation is immensely rewarding and continues to inspire my dedication to teaching chemistry.

My chemistry lessons aim to make both theoretical concepts and laboratory practices accessible, engaging, and meaningful. I cover chemical fundamentals, molecular structures, reaction mechanisms, thermodynamics, kinetics, and analytical techniques, combining clear explanations with visual aids, interactive discussions, and applied problem-solving. Each lesson is designed to encourage curiosity, foster critical thinking, and help students develop confidence in both calculations and experimental procedures.
For beginners, I focus on foundational topics, including basic chemical principles, simple reactions, safety practices, and laboratory familiarity. Intermediate learners explore stoichiometry, equilibrium calculations, titrations, spectroscopic analysis, and problem-solving strategies. Advanced learners study reaction mechanisms, organic synthesis pathways, analytical techniques, and advanced laboratory methods. Lessons integrate guided exercises, conceptual reinforcement, and discussion-based problem solving to ensure deep understanding and practical application.
Chemistry education strengthens logical thinking, analytical reasoning, and experimental skills. Students learn to interpret data, connect theory to practice, and approach problems methodically, while also gaining appreciation for chemistry’s role in daily life and scientific research. My goal is to provide learners with the tools to succeed academically and professionally, mastering both the theory and practical application of chemistry confidently.
