About Carolina
Olá! My name is Carolina, and I am a native Portuguese speaker and fluent English teacher with international experience in language teaching, translation, and interpretation. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Translation (English/Portuguese), a Master’s degree in Theater and Performance (2025), and I am TESOL & TEFL certified. Over the past few years, I have taught children, teenagers, and adults in both classroom and one-to-one settings, helping learners of all levels achieve their goals — whether improving conversation skills, preparing for exams such as IELTS or Cambridge FCE, or building confidence for professional communication. My Teaching Approach I adapt each lesson to the student’s needs, making learning engaging and accessible. I combine clear explanations, real-life examples, and interactive exercises, always encouraging students to ask questions and practice actively. My background in theater also helps me use creative methods and communication techniques to make classes dynamic and confidence-building. Lesson Structure & Length Most lessons are 60 minutes, which allows us to review material, introduce new concepts, and practice together. For intensive study or exam preparation, I also offer 90-minute sessions, and shorter lessons (30–45 minutes) are available for quick reviews or younger learners. My Background & Experience Native Portuguese speaker and fluent in English (C1 level, IELTS certified). Master’s in Theater and Performance (Trinity College Dublin, ongoing). Bachelor’s in Translation (English/Portuguese) and Theater. TESOL & TEFL certified (250-hour diploma + 120-hour certificate). Experience as an English teacher in Brazil, working with children, teens, and adults. Freelance translator and interpreter, with strong cultural awareness and communication skills. Who I Teach My lessons are designed for: Children, teens, and adults learning English or Portuguese. Beginners through advanced learners.
