About Ashley
Hi, I'm Ashley! Nice to meet you. I studied Biology at Prairie View A&M University and then went to medical school. In medical school, I started teaching ACT Prep on the weekends and never looked back. Currently, I am teaching kids and adults English online and finishing the semester as a Middle and High School Special Education Math Teacher. When I am not teaching I am helping companies tell their story as a voice actor, thrift shopping, and watching Law and Order. I can't wait to meet you!

I discovered my passion for teaching English while studying Special Education at American University. After graduating with my Masters of Arts in Special Education in 2015, I decided to focus on tutoring online to reach more children and adults. My teaching philosophy is everyone wants to learn, is able to learn, and will learn in a relaxed and interactive environment. As far as teaching methods, I use student-centered approaches, collaborative learning, and inquiry-based learning. My favorite technique is active listening – everyone needs to be heard! I love learning languages; I have had the pleasure of chatting with students in more than 20 countries. My specialties include conversational English, Business English, and Interview Prep. I look forward to partnering with you to become a better English speaker!
