About Carissa
Hey! My name is Carissa and I have been teaching special education for 8 years. I have had the pleasure of teaching many students from grades K-5th learn how to read and write or learn how to be more confident in their reading and writing abilities. The best part of being a reading teacher is seeing the spark in students' eyes when they read their first story or beat their own personal goals. Bringing excitement back to reading is such a joy and I hope I get to help you accomplish your goals today!

I can provide individualized lessons geared toward your child's needs in reading. My lessons are for students who are in grades K-5th. My lessons can involve learning letter identification and letter sounds, decoding CVC to multisyllabic words, and reading fluency. In addition, I teach basic writing conventions to help students become stronger writers. When your child is working with me, they will feel supported and more confident in their abilities.
