About Laura
I believe that every student can learn to read and write given when taught the proper skills and with an encouraging teacher. My teaching experience spans over fifteen years, with a focus in early primary education and foundational literacy strategies. Through my years of teaching and professional development opportunities, I have fostered a strong understanding of literacy development and the importance of evidence-based instructional strategies in foundational reading skills. My language lessons are fun and engaging. We will focus on lieracy instruction that is evidence based follow the Science of Reading. Students with systemstically learn to decode and encode using hands on techniques that are perfect for struggling readers and writers.

My son has been seeing Laura for 3 months and is continuing throughout the summer to prepare for Grade 4. She is a fun and friendly teacher that makes her students feel comfortable and confident with their learning. Laura has helped my son so much and he always looks forward to his time with her every week.
