Hello there! I'm Amaya, a Certified School Counselor in the state of New Jersey with an Ed.M. in School Counseling from Rutgers University. I am passionate about helping students build confidence in their reading and writing skills while creating a positive, supportive learning environment. My experience working with students from diverse backgrounds has taught me that every learner is unique, which is why I tailor each lesson to meet individual needs and goals. Each lesson is personalized to meet your individual goals, whether you're improving reading comprehension, building vocabulary, mastering grammar, writing essays, preparing college application essays, or creating a professional resume.
A typical lesson may include; reading and analyzing a passage together, practicing comprehension strategies, organizing an essay with a clear thesis and supporting evidence, reviewing writing for grammar and clarity, and receiving individualized feedback to help you grow as a confident reader and writer.

As a Certified New Jersey School Counselor with classroom experience, this is what I have to offer based on my experience and expertise:
Rate: $18 per hour (including materials needed for the session)
Lesson format: Available for both in-person and virtual tutoring
Personalized instruction: Every lesson is tailored to the student’s individual goals and learning needs
Materials: Learning materials and practice resources are included when needed
