Hello there! I'm Amaya, a Certified School Counselor in the state of New Jersey with an Ed.M. in School Counseling from Rutgers University. I am passionate about helping students build confidence in their reading and writing skills while creating a positive, supportive learning environment. A typical lesson may include; reading and analyzing a passage together, practicing comprehension strategies, organizing an essay with a clear thesis and supporting evidence, reviewing writing for grammar and clarity, and receiving individualized feedback to help you grow as a confident reader and writer.

As a Certified New Jersey School Counselor with classroom experience, this is what I have to offer based on my experience and expertise:
Rate: $18 per hour (including materials needed for the session)
Lesson format: Available for both in-person and virtual tutoring
Personalized instruction: Every lesson is tailored to the student’s individual goals and learning needs
Materials: Learning materials and practice resources are included when needed
Ages/levels: Late elementary, middle school, high school, and undergraduate students
