About Kiyana
My name is Kiyana Wilkins. I've been an Elementary and Middle School Math teacher for six years. I have a Bachelors in Journalism, which I practiced for 3 years as an Assignment Editor in TV News. I also have a Masters in Elementary Education.
My hobbies include figure skating, guitar, piano, and video games.
My greatest priority in my career is to build math confidence and to help students see the fun and practicality of Math. It truly is something that we use every day, even when we're not paying attention.

Typical lesson plan for 4th thru Algebra 1:
- Begins with a short warm-up to see where the student is with a particular skill.
- Short "note" session with just a few problems to reteach a skill. These problems increase in difficulty.
- Time for the student to practice a few problems on their own to see how they feel with the material.
- I love to end my lessons with a game or an engaging challenge that allows students to apply their knowledge to real world examples.
