About Aline

With 28 years of experience as a dedicated kindergarten teacher, I bring a deep understanding of early childhood education to my tutoring practice. I specialize in tutoring all elementary school subjects and work with students from kindergarten through sixth grade. I hold a valid teacher certification in elementary education (K–6), along with two master's degrees—one in Remedial Reading and Language Arts (with certification), and another in Special Education. In addition to classroom teaching, I have tutored students in grades kindergarten through sixth in reading and writing, helping them strengthen their literacy skills and build confidence. I use a variety of evidence-based strategies tailored to each child's learning style—whether that means phonics instruction, guided reading, writing workshops, or language games to boost engagement. I also believe in using the science of reading to guide instruction, and I currently implement these research-based methods in my classroom every day. This includes the use of decodable texts, multisensory materials, and structured literacy routines that support students at every level. Throughout my career, I’ve supported students with diverse learning styles and needs, including those receiving special education services. My inclusive, nurturing approach helps every child feel confident and supported, no matter their background or ability level. I place a strong emphasis on building student confidence and self-esteem. I believe that developing a trusting relationship with a student is the foundation for effective learning. When children feel seen, valued, and cared for, they are more motivated and open to growth. I also believe in strong communication with parents and caregivers. I provide regular updates and offer strategies to support learning at home, ensuring that families feel connected and informed. Whether your child needs help building foundational skills, developing literacy, or staying on track in any core subject, I’m here to help them grow and succeed. I’m passionate about creating a warm, encouraging environment where students can thrive—and I’m happy to work with anyone ready to learn! I’m available for tutoring on weeknights and weekends.

My Approach as a Tutor

Teaching Method and Techniques
My teaching style is warm, patient, and highly interactive—designed to meet young learners where they are. I focus on creating a safe, encouraging space that makes learning fun and stress-free. I use hands-on activities, games, stories, and visual aids to keep students engaged while building foundational skills in reading, writing, math, and other core subjects. I also incorporate movement and brain breaks to match the attention span and energy levels of younger children.

A Typical Lesson Plan
Each session is structured but flexible to fit the student’s needs and mood:

Warm-Up & Connection (5 min): We start with a short conversation, game, or review to build rapport and ease into learning.

Skill Building (15–20 min): I introduce or revisit a specific concept using a clear, age-appropriate explanation with visual or tactile support.

Practice & Play (15–20 min): We work on practice activities together—often through games, drawing, storytelling, or puzzles—to reinforce the lesson.

Wrap-Up & Reflection (5–10 min): We summarize what we learned, celebrate wins, and set a simple goal or challenge for next time.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
What makes my tutoring unique is the way I blend fun with foundational learning. I understand that younger students need more than worksheets—they need encouragement, creativity, and a sense of accomplishment. I’m highly tuned in to their emotional needs and learning styles, and I adjust each lesson accordingly. I also work closely with parents to ensure that learning continues beyond our sessions.

Who My Lessons Are For
I tutor elementary school students (typically ages 5–11) in core academic subjects such as:

Reading and phonics

Writing and grammar

Math foundations (number sense, operations, problem-solving)

Homework help and study habits

My sessions are ideal for:

Students who need extra support in specific subject areas

Children who benefit from a more personalized, one-on-one learning environment

Young learners who may be struggling with focus, confidence, or learning differences
