About Damaris
My name is Damaris, and I am a certified Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) teacher with formal training from Oxford House Barcelona, a language school fully accredited by the Instituto Cervantes - the world's most prestigious institution for Spanish language education, recognized internationally as the official authority on Spanish teaching standards.
My certification was obtained through a rigorous, comprehensive program that covers the most current and effective methodologies in language teaching, including communicative language teaching, task-based learning, lesson planning and sequencing, learner needs analysis, grammar and lexical instruction, phonetics and pronunciation, and the use of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR/MCER) to assess and guide student progress.
I bring to every lesson not only solid academic preparation, but also genuine teaching experience working with adult learners from diverse cultural backgrounds and language levels. I have designed and delivered complete lesson plans, units, and courses for learners ranging from complete beginners (A1) to upper-intermediate speakers (B2), always following internationally recognized teaching standards.
My virtual teaching experience includes conducting live online classes via Zoom and Microsoft Teams, managing interactive tools and activities, adapting in real time to students' needs, and creating a productive, engaging, and supportive learning environment - all of which are essential skills for effective online language instruction.

Presentation (15 min) - I introduce new language (grammar, vocabulary, or functions) through context, never in isolation
Guided practice (15 min) - We work through exercises together, building understanding step by step
Free production (15 min) - You use the new language creatively and spontaneously in conversation or activities
Wrap-up (5 min) - We review what we learned, I give feedback, and we set goals for next time
