About Shawn
I have over ten years of IT experience and have had the opportunity to work in many different environments such as retail, call center, IT helpdesk support, corporate IT and IT management. It is later in my IT career that I started as a corporate IT Facilitator and then transitioned to an Academic Facilitator position in the West-Rand area at a local college for around four years as a full-time A+ and Microsoft Office and Desktop Administration facilitator. I also taught Introduction to Computers for DHET N4 students as well as various other part-time IT subjects. I enjoy enriching all minds, both young and old, and help assist students in their foundational IT knowledge and experience needed to cope in the ever-growing IT world. I have a very casual teaching style and prefer a relaxed environment where students can challenge my knowledge and skills as well as learn as much as possible.

My methodology is simple. I follow the CompTIA requirements and objectives as the goal is to pass CompTIA exams students must and be willing to put in the extra work required. I prefer to do online one-on-one video tutoring as it allows a more personal and accurate assessment of each student's requirements. I am also always willing to share any notes and resources that I can with students to assist them in their CompTIA studies. My classes are informal, casual and very open. Initially, I prefer having a 30 - 40 minute session with each candidate to ascertain which areas need to be focused on as the CompTIA A+ curriculum is quite extensive.
