About Donnie
I have been involved in software development for over 20 years. I have spent time in industry working as a software developer, business analyst and software development team lead. I have spent the last 6 years instructing in the computer science department at my local college. I have also traveled internationally to teach computer science.
My focus is on learning the fundamentals of a programming language. Once you have mastered the fundamentals of a programming language I then show how easy it is to learn other programming languages.
I have a diploma in Computer Information Systems and a certificate in Adult Education.
My former students have told me they enjoy my teaching style. I was very approachable and delivered the material at a level they could understand.

My teaching style is I am a connector. I like to connect with my students. Identify their learning styles and customize my delivery for them.
When it comes to learning computer programming my philosophy is you need to learn by doing. My sessions are very hands on where we will build, break and fix software programs together.
I like to point out pain points that I have experienced in my programming career and explain to the student how to identify and rectify.
My lessons are for beginner to intermediate level programming students.
