About Alexandra
11 years of K-3 teaching experience in the general education setting. I've taught 3rd grade for 2 years, 2nd grade for 6 years, and 2 years of teaching 1st grade. Tutoring/small group instruction provides targeted instruction in areas that will help bring up overall grades and test scores.

I motivate students by using a growth mindset by supporting them in recognizing and learning from mistakes in a positive way. My students and I work together as a team. We work to determine our areas of strength and weaknesses with a baseline assessment. In finding these academic strengths, it is important to also address student interests. Starting my lessons with connections based on student interests will allow them to make a connection to previous learning. I believe in locating and addressing student misconceptions with the student and working together to work through skills. We then track our progress together to see how we are improving.

Alex and I know each other since high school. We share many of the of the same interest --including teaching. She is an amazing educator who not only is dedicated to the growth and education of tomorrow's leader, but she is passionate about what she does.
