About Gloria Supatra
Hi! My name is Teacher Gloria and I’m a CELTA-certified English teacher from Thailand, the land of smiles and I’m currently living in London, England. I love traveling, doing Arts and Crafts, and reading fiction books. I recently passed the CELTA course for teaching English with an A from an institute in London, which I’m very proud of because only 5% of candidates worldwide receive an A on this course.
I’ve been teaching English online for over 2 years, but I’ve been speaking English my whole life and previously lived in New York City for 5 years. I characterize my accent as American and I use US English spelling, slang, and expressions. I’m also a fluent Thai speaker and can read, write, and speak Thai fluently.

I’ve taught students from many backgrounds and ages ranging from 4 – 40 years old. The classes I’ve taught are Young Learners English, IELTS Exam Preparation, General English, and Business English. While I’ve taught students from all English levels, I specialize in teaching Elementary to Upper Intermediate students.
With younger learners , I use PPT presentations to teach new vocabulary words then use interactive websites like Baamboozle or Blooket to enable memorization via games. I also always start my classes with a quick 5-minute warmer with games like Simon Says or Stand Up/Sit Down and end my classes with a book on Getepic.com.
For older learners, I use an online teaching resource from Off2Class.com, to ensure that my students have access to high-quality material where I can easily assign homework or tests via the platform. If I’m unable to find relevant content, then I refer to some of the online textbooks that I have as a resource.
I always make a lesson plan for my classes prior to teaching.
Sample Lesson below:
"Adjective-Noun Collocations Related to Traveling" (Elementary - Pre-Intermediate Level)
The purpose of this lesson is to increase students' understanding of adjective-noun collocations, which they can use while traveling, and help them distinguish between a collocation and a regular adjective that is describing a noun.
Some of the collocations that I will teach include:
- heavy suitcase / heavy traffic
- low price / low season
- rich people / rich history
1. I would start with a Lead-In, which talks about my experience traveling and show a picture of a hotel. Students will now work together to find adjectives to describe this hotel.
2. Then I would give them a practice test with the words above to see how many collocations they already know related to traveling.
3. Next, I would teach some of the harder collocations by using context and concept-checking questions.
4. The students do another test to use all the learned collocations to fill in the blanks of a paragraph.
5. Students can now play a game by unscrambling words to form a question with the correct collocations then ask each other these questions.
6. I end the class by eliciting feedback about responses and highlighting emergent language and correcting errors they made whilst speaking.
