Successful essay writing comes down to a simple formula that is often not taught by high schools or universities. Without adequately supporting students in mastering these skills, how can they be expected to succeed? As a tutor, my approach is centred around personalized and interactive learning, ensuring that each student receives tailored instruction that meets their unique needs and academic goals.
Initially, I begin by assessing each student's current writing skills, understanding their strengths and areas for improvement. A typical lesson plan starts with a brief discussion of the lesson’s objectives and how they relate to the student’s overall learning plan. This is followed by an analysis of previous assignments or exercises to identify progress and areas needing further attention. The core lesson focuses on teaching specific writing skills or techniques, such as thesis development, paragraph structure, or citation formats. Students then engage in a hands-on writing activity to apply what they’ve learned. The lesson concludes with an immediate review of the exercise, providing constructive feedback and a discussion on how to improve, followed by a Q&A session.
My lessons are designed for a diverse range of students aged 13-25 years old, including high school students preparing for university, undergraduates, and early graduate students. I specialize in academic writing, essay writing, and assignment preparation across various disciplines. What sets me apart, however, is my strong academic background and my deep understanding of university-level expectations.
