About George
I tutored online throughout my time at university, and helped several a-level students with retakes, enabling them to achieve the grades they needed to go to the university of their choice, as well as turoring current a-level and GCSE students.
After graduating, I came to Eton College where I taught A-level and GCSE history and led classes for Oxbridge applicants in both History and Politics, as well as helping with personal statements. Having recently been through the process myself, I am excellently placed at helping Oxbridge applicants perform to the best of their ability. Whether it's interview practice, help with source work or instruction on the entrance exams, I have the resources, recent experience and first-hand insight needed to help you through the process. I have also taught medieval history to A-level students taking the Pre-U. Whether you are aiming for a band 1 or a band 4, I can help you achieve your goals. Likewise GCSE students, particularly those taking the IGCSE, will find a passionate and dedicated tutor in me as I help you navigate through the complicated mark schemes and specific marking criteria. At all levels, including those currently at University, I offer essay writing classes including instruction on how to plan and structure essays effectively.

Hi there,
I recently graduated Cambridge University with a First class degree in History before teaching at Eton College, one of the top public schools in the country. I am a young, energetic and passionate tutor who has the drive and determination to help you succeed.
As a person, I am outgoing, laid back and very easy to get on with. I have always enjoyed sport and have played rugby both for Eton's First XV and for my college side at Cambridge. Being younger than your average teacher, I found that I was able to build a strong relationship with my students, being able to relate to them on a more personal level. It may sound clichéd, but I genuinely love watching students grow in confidence and become excited by history, and believe that it is a subject that endears itself to passionate study, something I would hope to cultivate in you or your child.
Rather than following a set structure, I take a 'tailor made' approach to tutoring. No two individual's problems or difficulties with the subject are the same and so I will build my tutoring around you. In general I am laid back and approachable and will try to get to the ubderlying cause of a difficulty, through discussion of specific problems. I also use my extensive knowledge of how exmas are marked and how unuversity lecturers think to fully prepare students when it comes to exams. Whether you are a history undergraduate struggling with your dissertation, an Oxbridge applicant in need of guidance, or a student unsure where to begin with the complicated and extensive mark schemes of the GCSE syllabus, I can help at every step of the way and tailor my teaching specifically for your unique needs.

During my time under the tutelage of George, I first realised that I wanted to do history at university. I feel this sums up well how inspirational a teacher he was. Not only did he work hard to prepare well for our sessions together, but he also adapted with surprising dexterity when required, with discussion moving freely, allowing me to really explore the ideas presented to me. However, what I think really marks George out is his focus on understanding. Anyone can present information to children, and it requires not much more skill to get them to learn it by rote. A teacher of a high standard cares much whether his students get a proper understanding of what they're being taught, and this is why I think George ought to be recommended in order that others can benefit from his expertise.
