About Phoebe
Hi, I’m Phoebe, a third-year English student at Cambridge.
I’ve been through the Oxbridge applications process and came out of it not only with a Cambridge offer, but with offers from all four of my other choices. I went on to be ranked within the top ten of my year at Cambridge. I’m an experienced tutor and mentor who can help you throughout your application. Whether you need general applications advice, personal statement reviews, ELAT tutoring or interview practice, I’m here to help.

I can help you at every stage of your application, starting with your personal statement: I’ll review it before our session, then provide you with both line-by-line comments and overall feedback. I’m then available for a follow-up session where I can do the same in-depth process on a revised draft. If you’re unsure of where to start, I offer planning sessions where I can talk you through your ideas and offer advanced reading that will develop your interests and get you thinking like an Oxbridge student. I’m always available by email to answer questions about my feedback.
In ELAT preparation sessions I will guide you through past papers and give feedback on your own answers; I also provide resources to help you prepare and know what examiners are looking for.
For interview preparation, I offer two types of session, to reflect the two forms an Oxbridge interview will take: one discussing an unseen text, another working from your personal statement to discuss you. Half the session will be questions, half will be feedback, and I can improve your approach to the unseen as well as your general interview skills.
After every session, I’ll provide you with a write-up of what we discussed, and I’m always available for follow-up sessions.
