About Lauren
I am currently in my final year of Business School with aspirations of becoming a High School Business and Social Sciences teacher, whilst running my own small business. My aim to inspire and support students like my own teacher's did for me growing up, to impart my love for learning onto young people and help them achieve all of their goals.

My teaching philosophy is to create an atmosphere where students feel comfortable sharing their ideas and in being curious learners so they can reach their full potential. I ensure I am able to meet each student’s individual academic and wellbeing needs, by adapting lesson plans and employing creative strategies to appeal to their unique abilities and learning styles, offering support when necessary.
After introducing a topic I use real-life examples to consolidate the student's understanding, before incorporating engaging activities into the session to assess their knowledge and identify gaps in their knowledge that need to be filled. In some cases, I will also introduce additional resources for the learner to use between sessions to support them in achieving their overall goal. For example, I will create a spreadsheet that breaks down their curriculum. Students can use this to identify their strengths and weaknesses using a traffic light system, which can be updated over time, to monitor the student's progress, during the revision process.
If the learner requires support with their coursework, I would first analyse their coursework specification and criteria, to provide advice on the structure, and the content to include (including research and analysis), and offer constructive feedback as they construct their report.
