About Alline
I am a dedicated drum tutor with 9 years' of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Performance. My passion for drumming began in childhood, and I’ve spent 9 years studying rhythm, technique, and musical expression across a wide range of genres. I’ve performed with rock bands, jazz ensembles, wind symphonies, worship groups, and professional studio sessions, and these diverse experiences allow me to teach students how drumming works both on stage and behind the scenes. My lessons focus on mastering fundamentals like stick technique, timing, dynamics, posture, and rhythmic accuracy while making learning fun, positive, and encouraging.
I tailor each lesson to a student’s goals, whether they want to learn their first beat or master advanced fills and polyrhythms. My approach blends structured learning with creativity, helping students develop real musical confidence. I incorporate play-along tracks, practical drills, songs, and groove-building exercises that strengthen coordination and feel. I also teach students how to listen deeply to their playing, analyse their progress, and develop strong practice habits. My teaching environment is welcoming, motivating, and designed to help learners feel comfortable taking risks and exploring new ideas. I believe progress happens when students feel supported and excited about their journey. Drumming has shaped my life in meaningful ways, and I love sharing that passion with others. Helping students discover their own musical identity is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching, and I’m committed to guiding you every step of the way.

My drum lessons are designed to foster creativity, improvisation, and artistic expression while building technical skill and confidence. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level and goals, whether they are beginners exploring rhythms, intermediate learners experimenting with patterns, or advanced drummers developing original improvisation skills. Lessons cover timing, stick control, hand independence, coordination, groove, dynamics, rhythm reading, and expressive phrasing.
I integrate exercises, song practice, play-alongs, and creative improvisation to make lessons engaging and practical. Students receive guidance on structured practice, milestone tracking, and goal-setting to ensure steady progress. My teaching environment is positive, encouraging, and supportive, giving learners the freedom to experiment and explore their own style. Lessons emphasise listening skills, musical analysis, and practical application in both solo and ensemble contexts. Students gradually develop technical mastery, coordination, rhythmic independence, and expressive ability. Milestones are celebrated to maintain motivation and reinforce achievement.
Each session balances structured skill-building with creative exploration, fostering artistic growth. Drumming becomes a tool for communication, creativity, and emotional expression. Students develop problem-solving skills, adaptability, and musical awareness alongside technical growth.
